From Our Kitchen to Your Kitchen:

Pattidawn, or "Dawn", as she prefers to be called in the world of entertaining, was raised in the California Central Valley, in  Turlock and Modesto.  Her grandfather, Hyland H. Gould, "Hy", was owner and proprietor of a first-class restaurant in Modesto, the very well-known Gould's Restaurant.

Dawn was raised to enjoy and to prepare Italian-style meals at home. Her dad Bill Fox, or "Papa", as he was called in the seventies by his grandchildren, had spent many years in San Francisco's legendary restaurants.  In previous decades, Bill Fox had worked as a flower arranger for Podesta Baldacci Florist, where he enjoyed designing home and table floral decorations, for San Francisco's elite.

Dawn was introduced to many styles of cooking while dining with her family at the fine restaurants of the Central Valley:  Assyrian, Latif's Restaurant; Chinese: Minnie's and On-Loc-Sam's; Continental: The Castle and the El Patio; Mexican: Carmen's--to name a few of their favorites.

Before the Internet, we often discussed the sharing of our recipes with others, and it is now a reality.  In Dawn's original hand-written cookbook, she noted the amount of times each recipe was personally prepared, as well as the response from family and friends.  Let the reader be aware that each recipe here has been tried and perfected!

Bon Appetit!

We Love to Entertain....

...and to share with friends what we have learned! In our forty-plus years of marriage, we have taught each other the best of what we have learned and re-learned in the kitchen.

BON APPETIT!
